DREDGING AT FOSTER BAR!

designed/updated 09/30/2011

I dredged at Foster Bar on Wednesday, September 21st and Thursday September 22nd. My motor quit working so I was at camp when the Forest Service Law Enforcement person came by.

He took pictures of my dredge then left after I mentioned 1866 mining law, 1872 mining law, Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, and other papers pertaining to this river.

We had about 30 people turn out for our outing. Most people found gold!

It was in direct proportion to energy expended.

On Monday September 26th I returned to the river with my dredge. The pictures below tell the story.

This is all of the gold, lead, nails, screws, bullets and other junk dredged up in a 10 foot by 1 foot area.

Can you imagine stepping on any of this in the river.

There was $1.18 in coin found.

I received a ticket from the U.S. Forest Service for my trouble.

I'll fight it all the way.
